Well hello! My name is Boris Ivančev, and I’m a student of printmaking at Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia. But my artistic journey was much wider in scope than my current studies. I’m a self-taught doodler, cartoonist, animator, writer, drummer, music producer, you name it! Somewhere around high school, I’ve started my Instagram page, Dragonacelnik. The name is derived from my mispronunciation of the Serbian word for ‘mayor’ from a family video of me around 6 years of age. From ‘gradonacelnik’ (a person overseeing a town) we arrived to ‘dragonacelnik’ (a person overseeing kindness). I also state in the video that I’d stand for everyone doing good things, as the Dragonacelnik of the whole world. While I’m far from any of those standards I set up for myself, I try to make things that make people laugh. Which is nice enough, I think.
